How the 25 days work
Hide the sheep each night. Your children find him in the morning, then you read that day’s card together — Scripture, a simple activity, a prayer, and a preview of tomorrow. The readings run in order from Genesis to the manger, and on Christmas morning he’s waiting at the nativity.

Why a sheep
We wander.
Our Shepherd does not.
He gets distracted. He follows something interesting. He’s quite sure he knows the way.
And there he is, somewhere he wasn’t meant to be.

We wander, too. We go our own way. And we need a Savior. As your children search for their sheep, the Scripture cards tell the story of the God who comes for us.

Why we made this
Somehow, Jesus had become a parallel story at Christmas — instead of the story.
Our family loves us some Christmas. Like, tree-up-at-Halloween type people.
But last year I had a realization I couldn’t shake. My kids knew about the manger. They knew we were celebrating Jesus’ birth. We went to church, we read the Christmas story. And if I’m honest, so much of the excitement was still centered around everything else.
I kept thinking… what if there were something they were just as excited to wake up and find every morning — something that continually brought them back to Jesus? Something fun. Something they’d remember. Something that didn’t take the wonder out of Christmas, but pointed the wonder back to Him.
That little thought became Sheep & Seek.

Questions parents ask us
What ages is it best for?
Sheep & Seek is for ages 3+. Read the cards aloud together and let your children’s questions guide the conversation — the littlest ones love finding the sheep and listening, and children who read can follow along in the passages themselves.
How much time does it take each day?
A minute to hide the sheep, then a few minutes together to read the day’s Scripture, talk, and pray. Some days your children will have lots of questions; other days you’ll simply read. You can make room for the conversation without creating a daily event.
Do I have to create elaborate hiding spots?
No. A sheep tucked behind a cushion or sitting at the breakfast table is enough. Have fun with silly setups if you enjoy them, but the excitement of finding him doesn’t require props, crafts, or a late-night production.
Which Bible translation do the cards use?
Scripture quotations use the Christian Standard Bible (CSB), printed directly on each card so you don’t have to look anything up. The 25 readings follow the biblical story leading to Jesus’ birth — what we celebrate at Christmas, and why we need a Savior.
Does the sheep involve magic or monitor my child’s behavior?
No. Children can know that you’re the one hiding the sheep. He doesn’t watch them, report their behavior, or make them earn anything. The fun is in finding him, and the heart of it is discovering more about Jesus together.
Can my children share one set?
Yes. One set is enjoyed together as a family — children search together, take turns finding the sheep, and read the daily cards together. If you’d like each child to have their own, additional plush sheep are available separately.
What if we miss a day or start after December 1?
You haven’t ruined anything. Read a few cards together to catch up, or work through the remaining readings at a pace that suits your family. The goal is time in Scripture together, and a missed morning doesn’t take that away.
